The process of designing a custom home is quite easy, your new home design already exists in your mind as you are the most integral part of the equation, we ensure that your ideas are not only heard but understood.
You may have seen a picture, a website or walked through custom homes years ago and have a rough concept of a plan, this initial conversation is our start!
Lets get to the dirt
Yes the dirt! Your land is one critical element so often overlooked. This is the most import piece of our puzzle. We would always like to start here. Flat, walkout, reverse grade or daylight? Is orientation important to you? Any views to capture or avoid? What type of terrain are we going to be dealing with and how do you wish to incorporate a home that works seemlessly with the area.
Let's get drawing!
From our beginning, your thoughts and concepts are revealed and begin to show on paper, maybe a crude sketch that turns into a preliminary drawing, revised as many times as need be. At this point your home drawings are very much fluid and are modified until it perfectly meets all of your needs and requirements!
Our knowledge and experience begin to expand more into your home design. Spatial awareness, flow, form and function are taken into account and discussed with you. Details and the little items are tweaked until perfection!
From initial conversations with you the exterior becomes reality, look, style and feel. From old school French Country, Arts and Crafts to Ultra Modern or Modern Prairie, this is another element that you control and we deliver.
The details you will need
All of the technical and construction elements are added to drawings, code requirements, home builder, trade and supplier notes and details are also added, cross sections and drawing details are all noted and included.
The drawings are now permit ready and can be submitted to your builder or municipality. Time to dig!
Timeline
There is no timeline associated in this process, it is just that, a process... sometimes it happens quickly, sometimes it does not, the only factor is your happiness and complete satisfaction. You have a home design that reflects precisely your needs, wants and requirements, one that you will enjoy for many years to come!
